Alex Wilson's 3/4 report

An adult male Baltimore Oriole, presumably the same bird first
reported in December, was seen again, this time back in its original
location in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Most recent reports have
been from the Prospect Park Zoo and points southward, Flatbush Avenue
notwithstanding.

A few hints of spring were evident, with increasing numbers of
Robins, Red-winged Blackbirds and Grackles on the move and the first
big flocks of Cedar Waxwings I’ve seen since winter began, as well as
flyover Turkey Vultures and Wood Ducks.

Baltimore Oriole

In addition to the usual suspects, late on Sunday afternoon (around 5 pm?),
I observed a mature male Baltimore Oriole in very bright plumage in Prospect
Park. The oriole was on the eastern bank of the Binnenwater near to the
Nethermead Arches. It returned repeatedly to a holly bush that was very
popular with other sp. including cedar waxwings.
Ring-necked ducks have returned to the Upper Pool. I observed three drakes
and one hen. ~Monica Berger
