Pine Siskins 12/26/08

I was fortunate to be in the park when Rob Jett text messaged me about abundant Pine Siskins in the Vale and then even more at Ricks Place . When I got there, I immediately spotted them just on the north side of the Boulder Bridge , numbers devouring the Sweetgum seeds. In all, Rob estimated between 75 to 100 Pine Siskins. They kept moving around, eventually taking off into the northern Midwood where more Sweetgum trees reside. So...you should focus on this area and try your luck....they were in the park yesterday and should hang around as long as sweetgum yield their productive fruit.
