A segment appeared in today's Brooklyn Courier Daily, about the water surface weed that completely covers the smaller ponds and along the edges of Prospect Lake. The reddish culprit is Azolla Caroliniana , with along the usual duckweed has shielded the ponds' under surface ( not good for fish nor plants needing sunlight).
