Very Rare Prospect "winged" Insect
Steve Nanz, insect aficionado in Kings, reports a prized find in Prospect yesterday 7/7.
Here is his comments and his photo attached.
"Found this moth in Prospect Park this morning. It is only
the second Sesiidae sp. that I have ever seen before.
(Saw my first in PA back in 2007.) I think this one is
Synanthedon pyri but can't rule out Carmenta ithacae."
