With a very cold morning, the walk today was a fast one, but some good bird sps were observed today, among them: Eastern Phoebe, Brown Creeper, Ring-necked Duck, Great Egret, Common Grackle, both sps of Kinglets, Fox Sparrow, Belted Kingfisher.
As I was crossing the Nethermead, the unusual bird calls, made turn my head, and here are, 2 green birds aka Monk Parakeets flying low E-W over the Nethermead.

Observer: Rafael Campos R.
The "new bird" today in the PP were about 6 Tree Swallows seen flying low over the lake.
Also in the Peninsula, a lonely American Kestrel was seen perched near the lake shore.
Among the waterfowl, finally, for the very 1st time, I saw the pair of Northern Pintails, and very nice looking pair of Hooded Merganser. Ring-necked Ducks were recorded at Lake and the Pools.
The American Robin is the most numerous bird sps, but the Eastern Phoebe were everywhere.

Among the sps of birds observed today at PP, the lonely Rusty Blackbird was the "bird" for the day.  It was spotted feeding with several Robins (Midwood). 
Also present, at least 2, Yellow-rumped Warblers, seen around Music Pagoda.
One lonely Ruby-crowned Kinglet was seen also.
In numbers, the Robins are "numero 1".
At the Long Meadow, 1 American Kestrel was seeing flying over.

Less windy than yesterday, PP was a little different, as some sps recorded yesterday did not show up today, but I added my first Great Egret for PP, near the 3 Sisters Island (also 1 Great Blue Heron).
The Ring-necked Ducks, that usually I found in the Upper Pool, were more numerous, and seeing ~6 in the Lake.
A very unusual sight in the Lake, was a flock of ~26 Brant  that arrived at the Lake.
A single Cedar Waxwing was observed in the Vale.
Leaving PP, a Peregrine Falcon was observed flying low over the Nethermead, and later over the Long Meadow.

As Park Slope was under the spell of strong winds, the blue sky was like a magnet to take my first Spring walk thru PP.
The most abundant sps was American Robin, but still in good numbers White-throated Sparrows & Dark-eyed Juncos.
At the feeders, the 2 sps Nuthatches could be seen very well.
A small number of both sps of Kinglets were seen foraging behind the Music Pagoda.
But the surprise, and 1st time for the year, was 1 male Brown-headed Cowbird seen with some Robins at the Nethermead.

Today the pintail pair were still present. At about noon a flock of about
150 Brant landed on the Lake and then 15 minutes later flew away towards
the Parade grounds. .

A Natural Resources crew member flushed an American Woodcock this morning in the Lamppost 249  section, on the Lookout Hill slope base by the two Magnolia trees. Lamppost 249 is at the southwest corner of the hill that faces the Lake..
