site: Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY
date: 28 March 2008
time: 1000-1200 hrs
route: Grand Army Plaza, Vale, Rick's Place, Midwood, Music Pagoda, Lullwater, Breezy Hill feeders, Peninsula, Lake, Nethermead, Pools & Long Meadow
Observer: Rafael Campos R.
The "new bird" today in the PP were about 6 Tree Swallows seen flying low over the lake.
Also in the Peninsula, a lonely American Kestrel was seen perched near the lake shore.
Among the waterfowl, finally, for the very 1st time, I saw the pair of Northern Pintails, and very nice looking pair of Hooded Merganser. Ring-necked Ducks were recorded at Lake and the Pools.
The American Robin is the most numerous bird sps, but the Eastern Phoebe were everywhere.
