I received a 5:11 call from Rob Jett who witnessed a flock of 500 + "Peep" Calidris sandpipers flying over in a tight formation near the 9th Street entrance. Regardless of the true identity, nevetheless for Prospect records, this represents one of the largest numbers ( pending record search) flying over Prospect airspace.
I went out afterwards to check the lawns and the lake shores but there were too many people out there for these skittish birds.
But...a terrific observation for sure. Good birding.
