I'm back and here is a report received in my absence

8/26 report from Scott

At about 9:30am yesterday (Tuesday) in Prospect Park
in Brooklyn I had a Summer Tanager in blotchy
red/orange plumage, I'd guess probably a 1st year
male (it was fairly bright). It was on the southeastern
branch of the Penninsula towards the tip, feeding in the
mid to high canopy along with a lot of starlings, robins,
and a few warblers (yellow, magnolia, black and white).
Other birds in the park included Carolina Wren, Warbling
and Red-Eyed Vireo...light activity, but definitely feels
like migration.
