9/16 EQUALS 19 species warblers!

Peter's note: 19 species warblers are tallied

from the reports today in Prospect Park.

Great day even though I had to work most

of the day or an appointment in NYC

except after work@330 . Best sightings are

 Connecticut and Yellow-breasted Chat,

both seen on the hot Peninsula. In the afternoon,

the tip was quite active with warblers "trapped:

in and around the right side of the shelter, esp

in the elm and cherry trees by the cove.

The birds were coming put of the phragmites

and upward   to tree perches or on the flumes

of the phrags, Most noticeable were Northern

Parula and Blackpoll species. The peninsula is a

great post morning locale for resting and feeding

birds in this cooler spot. A Good show today!

A major cold front --Northwest winds-is predicted

to pass thru Thursday morning.. That day and

Friday should be a quite a day birding. Have fun!
