11/11 Veterans Day sightings

From Rafael:

As the weather changed a little, it was time to visit PP, and see some changes on the avian visitors & residents. The first big surprise was seen 1 Turkey Vulture flying over the Nethermead about 9:15 am, heading W, followed by 1 Cooper's Hawk.
By the peninsula meadow, another surprise, was 1 Nashville Warbler & 1 Savannah Sparrow, and to close the rarities (at least this time of the year), 1 female of Common Yellowthroat, near the Pools.

From Orrin Tilevitiz:

In addition , in a brief walk this morning (aborted when I stepped into what looked like a pile of leaves by the lake and turned out to be about 6" of water and mud),

I saw (1) a black duck by West Island Cove, (2) 2 drake hooded mergansers on the lake, (3) a ruby-crowned kinglet around West Island, and (4) what must have been a sharp-shinned hawk on the south/east side of the lake
