October 4th Prospect Park

Hilight today: RED-HEADED WOODPECKER seen by Audubon group ( which ?)

from Rafael Campos:
( birding with Gayle Lovell and Xandra )

Site: Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY
Date: 04 October 2009
Observers: Rafael Campos + Gaylle & Xandra

The activity today was quite slow, except perhaps the area between the Peninsula meadow and Lookout Hill.Vale, Midwood, Nethermead, Lullwater; were very quiet, and nothing exciting or rare there.

I joined forces with Gaylle & Xandra, and we started around the Peninsula Meadow, and the action started. Our first big sighting was 2 Common Nighthawks seen flying towards the Nethermead (±10 am), and about 20 minutes later, seen again circling around the Lookout Hill.

Later, I met the Audubon group, and they told about the Red-headed Woodpecker, which I missed.
