Mostly Prospect March 24th

Generally slow today attributed to the caprices of early spring ( and typically for March) for songbirds, a PINE WARBLER seen at the pine grove in the Lullwater on the Terrace bridge east made it exciting in sorts, my first for this season. This warbler is usually my top favorite, a subtle tinted, nicely plumaged bright bird yet anything to do with Pines , I like. Plus its the first truly noticeable gorgeous warbler for my life list back in the early 80's (last century).

Pine Warblers along with PALM WARBLER were reported in Greenwood cemetery , along I believe the Sylvan Waters which is the closest water body to 5th avenue , reported by Dennis H.

NORTHERN SHOVELERS and a lone drake RING-NECKED DUCK at the southwest sector of the lake are unexpected finds. But quacky stuff still come through in March.

From Rafael, sparrows are noted finds today--7 species-- a SWAMP in the Vale of Cashmere and FIELD along with CHIPPING ,both at Nellie's Lawn edges and FOX as well. Oh, Rafael had a terrific Pine day, 8 PINE WARBLERS at Upper Pool...now that's "a conifer wave !".
