From Peter

Prospect Park

Quiet days forces one to relish the scarce moments. Typical of today's beautiful fall day with peaking colors, two cherished moments stood out for me.

The East Wood Arch building area is a good spot for fall activity. There, I watched closely from the narrow path early this morning with delight 8 CEDAR WAXWINGs gulping down reddish Hawthorne berries. Most were immatures so I guess the young guys and gals have really large appetites.

Speaking of eating, this time me, I was sitting on the bench facing the Duck Island shelter, enjoying my Jamaican dish. From my left, I spotted a flyover of 4 MONK PARAKEETS .Those birds being so low,I had to make sure I covered my food.. :)>
