From Peter:
A gorgeous fall day though in my opinion means not much birding activity; you need "disruption" in weather patterns for nature to dump good stuff here . But its a good idea to watch the winds, particularly strong western winds that may bring in a western species to these parts. But today, it was a common species -RED-EYED VIREO-- that unexpectedly showed up by the Well house, pretty late for November date ( that even Ebirds asked me to verify) . I saw it fly from the cherry tree to the Herculaneum tree, raising my hopes for a rare vagrant; but upon further inspection, found some delight instead of a late date sighting..maybe its a good omen, a welcome mat for a rare vireo ?
Hopefully, someone will be out there on Sunday looking.
