From Rafael:
22 October 2011
A nice walk around PP gave me some surprises, despite the noise (rock&roll concert @ Nethermead + Marathon), specially around the Ravine, when a single Ovenbird jumped in from of me.
Another nice surprise was 1 Lincoln's Sparrow at the Vale, taking a bath, among White-throated, Swamp, Song Sparrows. Unexpected, in the same place, 1 White-crowned Sparrow, came to join them.
The number of Blue-headed Vireos were amazing, 6 of them.
Warblers, beside the Ovenbird, and the numerous Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler, I saw at least 2 Northern Parula, 1 Black-throated Blue (female), and several Blackpoll Warblers.
Nothing else, except perhaps that the number of species of waterfowl are increasing in the lake.
Brooklyn is great birding!!!
