Prospect Sept 4th

The birding today was not terrific despite a little favorable wind from last nite. Speculation among the few seasoned birders in the Brooklyn Bird Club walk, speculated on the strong winds ( perhaps not felt on the ground level) generated by hurricane Earl  or maybe the birds sensed the hurricane's presence and that kept them at bay--or delayed action.. In any case, it was hard work looking for birds.Who says predicting bird migration was a proven thing? If I was able to predict it accurately, I would be a rich stock broker by now.
