May 10th Prospect: picking up the aerial steam

Hilights on this "windless" day (thank goodness) regards a genera that are masters of the wind: swallows. The continuing CLIFF SWALLOW on Prospect Lake along with 4 other swallow species makes its a 5 swallow event, others being NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED , TREE, BARN & BANK seen together .The Cliff was first spotted off the Peninsula thumb, on the Duck Island side but moved to the lake side of the thumb (fyi , the Peninsula is shaped like a clenched hand). Other notable mentions are 21 species warblers reported mostly on the ridge line ( T.Stephenson), including 2 HOODED ,,BLACKBURNIAN,WILSON'S,BAY-BREASTED,TENNESSEE ,CANADA; YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO on Lookout Hill meadows,a surprising RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, a Spotted Sandpiper walking under the Cofferdam at the rink, ORCHARD ORIOLE & INDIGO BUNTINGS. Rare Bobolink in a late report received tonight, reported behind the rink. Check the lists for more details.
