May 7th Prospect and BBG

With still low numbers ( except the Blackpoll for this date !) of warblers to contend with, a few quality sightings. Within the woods of the north Midwood, a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was seen flying across the tree canopy. A pursuit into the woods towards the zoo, the cuckoo was relocated remarkably again at treetop and seen perched in excellent view (P.Dorosh). In the same area, namely opposite the Zoo back service gate, a female WILSON'S WARBLER, a few seconds glance and away she went upward into the canopy for this usually midstory warbler.A late Pine Warbler came through today (L.Zirlin) .Who can figure out what's going on with these warblers? ...mostly they are missing so far with their numbers... and their uncooperation ! ;)>

Tomorrow is BIRDATHON DAY. Wish the teams of the Brooklyn Bird Club good luck.
