August 3rd Prospect

Hilights include : Solitary Sandpiper on black plastic water edge up road from rink to terrace bridge; 7  Forster's Terns at the Lake

Peter's report (incidental sightings):

This morning , while I was weed removing Paper Mulberry, a SOLITARY SANDPIPER flushed from the shore unto the black plastic covering the phragmites along the road from the rink concert grove towards Terrace bridge

After work , I noted 7 FORSTER's TERNS , 6 immatures perched on the boat canopy, ( one happy family obviously or is it a rooftop teenager party ??) while an adult flew around the perimeter of Duck Island; I enjoyed watching the adult dive bomb the water surface, successful a few times with captured fish ( more like minnows). It's been quite a summer regarding the Forster Tern, soon to depart beginning in mid-August for southern migration
