by the way, Cypress Ave is a really terrific warbler spot with all the road line oak trees during late April into May.

Otherwise, ask for a fold up map from the guard at the main gate. But soaking rain is on the way.....

From Peter

Just quick looks today, mostly the lake where continuing RING-NECKED DUCK lingers with a flock of Northern Shovelers and Ruddy Ducks. The Shovelers were scattered throughout the lake.

But of  interest were the HOODED MERGANSERS, its flock sized increased to now 10 from previously reported 8, the flock hanging near Three Sisters Islands on the lake side or inside the strait. A nice sight to watch as they waded together.

On land, this morning , a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK seen flying in and perching on a locust tree on the south side of the Nethermead ( 3 Arches) Bridge. Just about all the time I had today. Tomorrow it's rain gear day...( perhaps a good time then to check the lake)
