Upper Pool's island received a permanent enhancement yesterday, a Wood Duck Nest box.Its best viewed from the back path.
Thanks to my co-worker Dave Chadwick with help from an intern who erected the nest box donated by Rob Bate.
We hope it would be occupied; even if it wasn't, its a nice ornament to view.
By the way, some interesting facts about Wood Duck boxes. There has to be at least 40 feet clearance in front of the nest hole, which the duck makes a straight beeline for...That's daring ya know?
