Prospect /BBG April 24th

With a cold snap impacting bird migration, there were some keen observations recorded today.

The first spring Tuesday BBC walk led by Rob Bate took place today from Bartel Pritchard with the hilight of 3 INDIGO BUNTING taking first prize for the group. The buntings were seen in the Midwood by the zoo, thanks to Bobbi Manian spotting them.

SPOTTED SANDPIPER , NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS , SAVANNAH SPARROW, and NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH were reported along the southern lake shore between West Island and 3 Sisters.

OVENBIRD and BROWN THRASHER were some other hilights, both seen earlier in the season. But first for the season (FOY) is WARBLING VIREO in the BBGarden.
