Day of the Red Admiral

There is a phenomenal spectacle of Red Admiral butterflies in action. They are everywhere. ( and becoming welcomed gourmet for insectivore birds)

To give you an idea of how great it is seeing the Red Admiral today, I was working removing vines and pruning shrubs in the area on the southwest corner of Lookout Hill.Nearby was a poison ivy patch no more than 25 feet wide. As I walked near this patch , about 20 Red Admirals flushed from the poison ivy leaves ! Supreme & phenomenal to see !
