Prospect Aug 20th Golden opportunity continues

GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER stayed overnight in the same locality from yesterday, reappearing halfway down the woods trail that parallels the north shore of the Peninsula, or the side facing the rink. Rob Bate spotted the bird in a birch, about 100 feet from the point's shelter.

Also in the mix are warblers BLUE-WINGED,WORMEATING ,CAPE MAY,  CANADA ,MAGNOLIA, YELLOW and REDSTARTS mostly on Lookout and Peninsula . I had a BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER female in Payne Hill. 16 species warblers for the record today with Rob and also Kathy's group.
Upon replying to Rob's twitter tweet, I spotted YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER at the west pin oak on Butterfly Meadow. Another flycatcher while looking for the Golden-winged,a GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER atop the pine above the Peninsula point.

P.S. A return to the Peninsula 4-5 pm did not reveal the elusive Golden -Winged, the area instead dominated by Redstarts, some Canadas, Chestnut-sideds, and Yellows. On the way out and home, the back meadow edge of the Peninsula had some activity with a Magnolia joining the previously mentioned.

From Rob Bate:

Hi Peter,

I got out to the park in a hurry when I saw a warbler in our backyard.  It was a great day for migrants especially on Lookout and the wood chip trail, the Penninsula, and the platform over the Lullwater Cove.  Notables were 3 Blue-winged Warblers, the Golden-winged Warbler, a Cape May Warbler and finally a Worm-eating Warbler.  Alas no Brewster's Warbler for me to round out the group of BWWA, GWWA and Brewster's.
