Prospect January 29th

Notable hilight : AMERICAN PIPIT inside Ball fields snow fence enclosure, west side ; hen Hooded Merganser has another suitor

From Peter:

I finally got to see the American Pipit , feeding along the ground at the west end of the snow fence enclosure that takes a sizable section of the southeast corner of the ball fields. Another notable sighting on this particularly bone chilling day, was the sight of another drake Hooded Merganser with the hen on the Lake. One of the males had its head crest wide open.Showing off I guess. Something to note with nothing much to cheer about when very cold temperatures hampers birding.
