January 12th: Gull wing tags + Prospect briefings

Kingsboider: A short time ago , I mentioned that I sent in information to the US Geological Survey Patuxent Bird Lab on 3 Ring-billed gulls that had orange pink circular wing tags, seen on Prospect Lake ( they were banded). I received the mailings a couple days ago. It turns out two of the three Ring-billeds are from Red Sox Nation (baseball fans take note) :)>

Two of the birds #343 and #318 are from Worcester County,Massachusetts. The third i have not received any info but likely the same region as the other two.

Kingsboider note #2 : regarding yesterday' s posting on the feathers I found on the ground, Rob Bate suggested they were from GREAT BLUE HERON..It makes the most sense given the length and coloration of the feathers. How it perished is anybody's guess. Anybody a fan of the "X-Files"?
