Hi Peter,
Chaoyan and I were surprised to see 5 Turkey Vultures fly over the
Nethermead today (Sat) about 11:30. We also saw 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk, 1
Blackpoll Warbler, and 1 Black-throated Green Warbler near the Lake.

Greenwood Cemetery
Lots of ground activity in Green-Wood in my 2 hr afternoon walk: Golden crowned kinglets, Chipping sparrows, juncos and a surprising number of thrushes--probably 20+ but skulking in the dark bushes.

Pier 1 of Brooklyn Bridge Park continues to be an interesting stopover for
migrants as well as an attraction to winter residents. Today there were 4
species of sparrows, not counting the ubiquitous House Sparrow.
New birds there for me today were House Wren, Yellow-rumped
Warbler, Song, Swamp,andWhite-throated Sparrows, and
Dark-eyed Junco. Most of the action was alongthe salt marsh,
though the south lawn was also active.
