October 12th Prospect

Highlight is a lone SNOW GOOSE on the lake northwest sector (near lamppost #249) seen by Eddie Davis. It was still there mid afternoon, though either along the shore by the gazebo or ranging towards the Peninsula shore ( Peter); Larry reports the Snow Goose now moved to the south shore. Its all over but you can't miss the white goose.

Also of note are several lingering warbler species reported today: Northern Waterthrush, Northern Parula and Black-throated Blue (Peter), Black-throated Green (NYCAS walk).

And lastly, by the rink, inside the chain link fence construction area by the park drive, some medium height grasses harbor a decent number of sparrows if you happen to be by there: Swamp,White-crowned, Chipping, Song. Pays to check it out for your info.

From Larry Zirlin:

Hi Peter,

Saw your post and went out to look for the Snow Goose. Finally found it on the south side of the lake grazing contentedly with a flock of Canada Geese. Nothing else extraordinary; list attached.
