The First Sunday Group birding walk this Sunday from the Prospect Park Audubon Center ( Boathouse) starts at 8 am .( and not the erroneous 10 am info listed by the Audubon Center in their media ) according to Michele Dreger.
Also note Daylight Savings Time ends this early Sunday morning ( Fall back one hour)....oh and there is some Marathon that day too...
On the second note, I have found out that bus shelters are under the NYC Department of Transportation control; hence a memo was sent to the DOT by the Prospect Park Alliance's Director of Government Affairs (whom I contacted) to tell them what is happening and hopefully a positive reply that the glass will be replaced or altered with anti window strike before the next migration period by the DOT. I saw a picture of that particular shelter and its quite shiny and reflective clear glass.To make matters worse, it's between the ends of the shrubbery / green ridge perimeter berms , with Vanderbilt Ave spitting the gap; so when birds fly across the street, smack ! ( if in the bad spot)...will keep you posted.
