As the days get colder, these early November days start to see winter species passage, such as ducks and typical 11th month birds. One particular species is RUSTY BLACKBIRD (R.Campos) seen well along the water edges of the Vale of Cashmere pool. I saw the Rusty near the end of my workday, as the bird worked along , flipping over leaves on the pool bottom. It's in a rusty brown ( or more like copperish ?) plumage so its a pretty bird to see ( especially with its golden yellow eye).
On the way home, a new species fall duck, hen BUFFLEHEADs , mingling with the Ruddies. Off to the side,a HOODED MERGANSER hen as well. Its something to see....
