From Chris Elliot:
Hi Peter,
Notable birds in Prospect Park today (of 53 species!) were:
Black-throated Green Warbler - Dendroica virens 1 (lower Elephant Hill near Center Drive)
Louisiana Waterthrush - Parkesia motacilla 2 (bridle path trench, west side of Tunnel Arch; mid-Ambergill Creek)
Palm Warblers and YR Myrtle Warblers were ubiquitous, with a good number of Pine Warblers. Also interesting: Brown Thrasher (Vale), Rusty Blackbird (Vale), first Barn Swallows (Lake + 1 f/o Vale), Winter Wren (lower Ambergill Creek), early House Wren (apparently nesting just south of Terrace Bridge). Yellow-shafted Common Flickers seemed to be strangely abundant (18 counted).
best, Chris
