A late afternoon YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was spotted near the T junction of Well Drive, West Lake drive, eventually moving into the forest behind the picnic tables ,then the last observation along the hillside near the T junction. Eddie Davis , who found the bird, texted me while I was driving back on McDonald Ave ( from Coney Island for unsuccessful attempt at a Glaucous Gull in CI Creek) , which I relayed the message to other birders and Twitter at every red light I stopped at.
The success paid off with at least 10 birders getting great looks at the rare bird.
