Prospect April 6th ; early spring "outburst"

Based on reports in the field,  a very good influx of spring migrants, most notable with PINE WARBLER. Rob Bate reported at least 30 of the latter, mostly in Lullwater with good number ( and as well PALM WARBLER) and Upper Pool per Heidi Clevens. For more details, if you have time to get out in the late afternoon, check out reports posted below. Arrivals of  FIELD SPARROW, BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, RUSTY BLACKBIRD , EASTERN TOWHEE and so quite a bit more. A later summary in the evening.

--Kingsboider

Kingsboider later note: due to the excellent productive # reports I recd today. it would take me a long time to summarize and proofread. Take my word, its good out there in prospect....

From Rafael Campos:

Observer: Rafael Campos
A late start but the visit to PP was very rewarding, specially when you see a massive number of 3 sps of warblers + kinglets.
The usual walk via GAP, towards the Vale, and continuing to Nelly's lawn (here T. Stevenson), told us about the warblers around the pools. Next stop: Upper & Lower pools
Out of the 3 sps of warblers, Pine was the most abundant, followed by Palm, and perhaps, 1-2 individuals of Yellow-rumped (Myrtle). Lots of Golden-crowned Kinglets, and few Ruby-crowned.
Here is today's list:
Canada Goose
Mallard
Red-tailed Hawk
Rock (Common) Pigeon
Mourning Dove
Red-bellied Woodpecker

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (2-3; Vale)
Downy Woodpecker
Hairy Woodpecker (1 pair; Vale)
Northern Flicker (3)
Eastern Phoebe (5±)

Blue Jay

Black-capped Chickadee
White-breasted Nuthatch

Golden-crowned Kinglet
Ruby-crowned Kinglet

Hermit Thrush (3)
American Robin

European (Common) Starling
Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler

Pine Warbler
Palm Warbler

Song Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow (3; Vale)

Dark-eyed Junco (1; Vale)

Northern Cardinal

Red-winged Blackbird (1 m; upper pool)
