As it has been in recent days, the "hot spot" Lullwater Cove viewing platform yielded another good one to its spring 2011 list : BREWSTER'S WARBLER.
During my fast break lunch run (only 45 minutes ) , I went to the cove platform hoping to see good reports of recent days, instead found a bright 1st gen male BREWSTER's with bright yellow wingbars , seen at eye level below the platform, a very cooperative bird that a few other birders were able to see it. Justin Potter who happened to be on the scene by chance took photos. Hopefully , posted to my blog soon.
Also of note , LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSHes also at at Lullwater cove , and Ravine creek. BG Gnatcatcher above Lullwater Cove path.

Kingsboider Note: Brewster's is a rare sighting because it is a hybrid of Blue-winged Warbler and Golden-winged Warbler. For more on the hybrid , goto

Later sighting: male adult ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK eating cherry flower petals along trail near northwest end Lullwater Bridge. (Peter); and earlier sighting RUSTY BLACKBIRD at the back shoreline of the Upper Pool.

From Mary:
A first one for me -- Blue Headed Vireo, on the slope of Lookout facing the cemetery. Also had a really good view of a Prairie Warbler near the stairs going down Lookout toward the cemetery. I had been hearing them, but usually they are so high up. This one was only slightly above eye level. Many Palms all over Lookout. Quite a few Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers (saw one yesterday, at least 8 today). Also seems like more Black and Whites than yesterday.
