I guess, finally Spring is here, and so the birds, too.
A early morning walk thru the park, was quite impressive with the number of species of birds, but no the numbers (exceptions HOSP & EUST). The walk took around Vale, Midwood, Nethermead, Lullwater, Peninsula+Lake, Lookout Hill, and the pools.
No much but at least 2 sps warblers around the Lullwater made the day (Pine & Palm). Later while I was at the Upper Pool, I saw my FOS Northern Waterthrush. Also around the Lake, 2-3 Barn Swallows were seen flying over. A Brown Thrasher in the Rose Garden was seen early, and around 11 am, another 1 in the Vale (the same individual??).
But first time, I recorded over 40 sps birds in one morning at PP.

From Adam:
Below report for today's rather late walk around Prospect. The
Red-tailed Hawk nest near the old ice rink was unoccupied when I
visited, which made me wonder if it had been abandoned. Within a few
minutes an adult flew in, settled on the nest for a few minutes, and
then flew off again to sit in a nearby tree. Something may have gone
wrong with the nest of the eggs may have hatched. Needs further
monitoring.
Also of note: Brown Creeper (first for many months) also Louisiana
Waterthrush working the water's edge between the Pink Beach and the
bridge at the end of the Lullwater.
Cheers!
Adam
